Grand Rapids newborn Photographer

Capture these fleeting moments through fine art photography

clean, classic, timeless.

Hi! I’m Erin! I’m excited you’re here because it means you value family photography and are searching for the perfect photographer to capture gorgeous images of your baby. You’re in the right place!

I specialize in “white studio” style newborn photography. You won’t find a lot of distracting bright colors, props, or unnatural filter tones in my photos. Instead, you’ll see clean, timeless images that focus on your baby’s unique features.

Classic images will showcase the newest love of your life without becoming dated or mocked (I’m talking to you laser beam yearbook photos!).

Let’s work together to plan a newborn session that’s both stress-free and endearing. Click the button below to read more about me and my Grand Rapids area studio.

Capture these moments

You know these moments are fleeting, right? You hear that all the time! You feel those first uterine flutters, then you’re skin-to-skin with a wrinkly, wide-eyed newborn. Suddenly that chubby-cheeked baby is starting her first day of school, or learning to drive, or walking across the stage to accept a diploma. And you sit there in disbelief wondering where did the time go. It’s so cliche, but so so true.

You don’t have to settle for just memories. Let me capture your family’s history in portraits that can be cherished for generations. Your memory WILL eventually fade, but that giant archival quality canvas showcasing your brand new bundle’s long eyelashes and pouty lips will not.

So stop passively letting these times in your life fly by! Move your family’s legacy to the top of your to-do list. Send me a message so we can start brainstorming the perfect session that preserves the ones you love IN. THIS. MOMENT.

my session process

After deciding you want to schedule a session, I’ll send you a booking proposal. That’s where you’ll choose your package, sign the contract, and pay the retainer fee. Once the proposal is completed, your session will officially be added to my schedule.

We’ll then start the fun process of planning for your session. Depending on your session type, this may include questionnaires, welcome guides, or prep guides. You’ll be kept informed and involved in the entire process to ensure your expectations are met.

The day you’ve been waiting for! All our planning pays off and everything comes together in a stress-free session.

Shortly after your session, you’ll receive your proofing gallery. This is where you’ll choose your favorites from lightly-edited, watermarked photos. If you love more than the number of images included in your package, you’ll have the option to purchase additional images also.

Next, I’ll meticulously hand edit your chosen favorites to include in your final gallery. You’ll receive a link to a new gallery where you’ll be able to download your fine art images.

After seeing your images, you’ll have the opportunity to order heirloom photo products. I offer unique, high-quality canvas and wood products for you to proudly display as wall art in your home.

8 Things To consider when choosing a newborn photographer

Make sure your photographer is educated in safe posing practices and experienced with newborn sessions. Ask about their sick policy and how they sanitize their studio between clients.

Choose a professional photographer who is licensed and insured.

Find a photographer whose style matches your vision and consistently creates images that you love.

Will the session take place at the photographer’s studio or at your home? Both have pros and cons. You’ll want to consider travel time, photographer travel fees, prop availability, and environment.

Newborn sessions are generally scheduled in the first 14 days. Be sure to check the photographer’s availability for your due date if that timeframe is important to you. Many photographers book months in advance.

Some photographers focus solely on newborns. Some also offer sessions through baby’s first year. And some continue offering sessions for older children and families. Think about whether you’re wanting to build a relationship with one specific photographer who can be with you as your family grows, or if you want to find a new photographer with each new stage.

There’s a spectrum of photo products from digital images to prints to high end specialty art. Make sure your chosen photographer offers the final products you want to receive.

Photographers are available for every budget. Each one charges differently based on their own cost of doing business. No matter the price point, be sure to understand all the costs regarding sitting fees, packages, upgrades, travel fees, etc. Be informed about your options so there aren’t any surprise costs later on.
